Cut the butter into thin pieces to make it easier to knead. Then mix it together with the flour, cornstarch, sugar, baking powder, vanilla extract, eggs and a bit of milk in a big bowl. Add some more milk and knead the dough. Add more milk and continue kneading for several minutes until the dough can flow into the baking loaf. Take a loaf baking tray and put some parchment paper inside. Then fill the dough in and put it in the oven. You can preheat the oven for a few minutes. Bake at 180°C for 30-60 minutes. Bake until a wooden stick poked in comes out dry. When the cake is done and has cooled you can prepare the pudding. For this you take a big pot and mix 3 bags of Dr Oetker pudding & pie filling powder, 2 semi sweet 100g chocolate bars and 2l of milk. Put the heat on high (8 on our stove) and stir everything until the pudding is ready. Now cut the cake horizontally into 3 pieces. Put one piece on the baking tray and put the pudding around with a big spoon / scoop. Let is cool a few minutes (maybe 5min). We usually put it in our cold garage, Canadian winters are quite cool. Then continue with the 2. layer by putting more warm pudding on the first layer and then putting the second layer of cake on top. Again put lots of pudding on top and around. Again cool it for a few minutes and after another short cooling break continue with the 3. and final one like with the second layer. Make sure that the pudding stays on the cake and really goes around everywhere. Cool it again for 5 minutes and then put the rest of the pudding around. Check that the pudding really is all around. Let it cool and then: Enjoy! Bon appetit! |
